Mark is an Associate at Laura Solomon & Associates, where he advises and handles transactional work for nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations. Mark brings valuable nonprofit experience to the firm. Prior to joining LS&A, Mark served as the General Counsel to Legacy Heritage Fund for over fifteen years.  As General Counsel, Mark’s work spanned domestic and international grant making, program design, regulatory approval, and program and grant implementation and evaluation. Mark structured and developed philanthropic programs that include: professional development programs for elementary and high school teachers; a fellowship program for college graduates; a recruitment program for college juniors to consider a career as a Jewish communal professional; and capacity building programs for lay and professional leadership of not-for-profit organizations. Mark was also involved in tax, financial and philanthropic operations.

Mark started his career in the corporate departments of Cadwalader Wickersham and Taft and Pryor Cashman, where he made partner.  At Cadwalader, Mark’s practice included negotiating and documenting mortgage loan purchase, sale and servicing agreements, repurchase transactions and direct origination of commercial loans agreements. At Pryor Cashman his practice focused on private equity and mergers and acquisition transactions.  Mark negotiated and documented domestic and international M&A transactions and supervised related due diligence. He also advised clients on corporate governance, financing issues and compliance.

Education and Licenses

Mark received his Bachelor’s degree from Yeshiva University in 1987. He earned a J.D.-M.B.A. from New York University in 1991. Mark is admitted to practice law in New York and Pennsylvania.
