Laura N. Solomon, Esq

Solomon, Esq. is the founder of Laura Solomon Esq. & Associates, a law firm devoted to the representation of nonprofit, charitable, and other tax-exempt organizations.  She and her associates provide a full range of corporate and tax legal services, including representation for mergers, joint ventures, and complex financings.  Firm clients include public charities and private foundations, museums, hospitals, schools, religious groups, business environmental, animal welfare, and amateur sports organizations, social clubs, and political action committees, and range from small start-up organizations to large health systems and multi-national charities.

Ms. Solomon is an Adjunct Professor at the Drexel University Westphal of Media Arts and Design, is on the Faculty of the Philadelphia Bar Institute, and currently serves on the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations Public Policy and Standards for Excellence Advisory Committees.  She frequently speaks to lawyers, accountants, and other professional and community groups on nonprofit, corporate, and tax issues, and lectures at the La Salle University Nonprofit Center, and Temple University Law School Center for Nonprofit Community Organizations.

Prior to starting her firm, Ms. Solomon was associated with Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP.  She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Tax Exempt Organizations Subcommittee of its Tax Section, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  Ms. Solomon received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Tufts University, and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.  You can find more information about her practice along with links to helpful information on nonprofits at her website: www.LauraSolomonEsq.com.

Donna Johnson Bullock, Esq

fpo-imageDonna Johnson Bullock, Esq. is an Associate at Laura Solomon Esq. & Associates where she forms and advises nonprofit, charitable organizations.  She joined the firm in March 2007.

From 2003 to 2007, Ms. Bullock staffed the Child Care Law Project at Community Legal Services in Philadelphia, where she provided legal services to the child care community and other nonprofit organizations.

Ms. Bullock frequently speaks to individuals, professional groups, and communities on child care, nonprofit, and leadership issues.  She is also a regular presenter at the Women’s Business Development Center and the PBI Annual Nonprofit Institute.

A graduate of Rutgers University and Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, Ms. Bullock is committed to community service and has served as a board member for several nonprofit organizations. She is also a member of Canaan Baptist Church in Philadelphia.

Beth A. Dougherty, Esq

fpo-imageBeth A. Dougherty, Esq. is an Associate at Laura Solomon Esq. & Associates, where she forms and advises nonprofit, charitable organizations. She joined the firm in June 2006.

From 1996 to 1998, Ms. Dougherty practiced in the areas of elder law and estates planning with Feldman & Feldman and then Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen LLP. In 1998, she joined Temple University, where she worked as the Director of Planned Giving for the Law School, as the Policy and Procedures Coordinator for the University, and from 2003 through 2006 for the University Counsel’s office advising the Department of Development and Alumni Affairs.

Ms. Dougherty received her B.S. from New York University and her J. D., cum laude, from the Temple University School of Law. She served on the Board of the Jewish Relief Agency from 2001 through 2007, and currently serves on the Board of the East Passyunk Avenue Civic Association and Town Watch.
