CHRISTINE KIM, ESQ.
Professional Experience
Christine Kim is an associate attorney with Laura Solomon & Associates where she advises nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations on all aspects of their operations including formation, governance, contract drafting and negotiation, commercial activities, and a wide variety of other transactions.
Christine started her career as an associate in the Federal Tax Group at Perkins Coie LLP where she worked with both taxable and tax-exempt clients. She formed dozens of nonprofit organizations and advised nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations on governance, commercial activities, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, and compliance with state and federal tax exemption requirements. Christine then spent a year as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Willamette University School of Law where she taught Federal Income Tax, Tax Exempt Organizations, and Employee Benefits. She also supervised students in the Business Law Clinic. Before joining LS&A, Christine was part of the Tax Contracts Team at Amazon where she advised on thousands of commercial transactions and helped improve tax review frameworks.
Professional Activities
Christine is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and a former chair of the International Tax Committee. She also served on the WSBA Nonprofit Corporations Committee and is a member of the International Fiscal Association and the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys.
Education and Licenses
Christine received her Bachelor’s degree in economics from New York University. She earned a J.D. with a concentration in Health Law from the University of Washington. She also earned an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Washington, finishing at the top of her class. Christine is admitted to practice law in Washington and before the United States Tax Court.
