Professional Experience
David is Counsel to Laura Solomon & Associates, where he advises nonprofit organizations on formation, obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status, board governance practices, federal tax law compliance, cause-related marketing and other charitable solicitation issues, unrelated business income, and general operations. David Karasko has more than a decade of experience as a tax attorney, with the past five years focused on tax-exempt organizations. Prior to his focus on tax-exempt organizations, David also advised clients on general corporate tax matters, tax planning for mergers and acquisitions, and the taxation of mutual funds and other pooled investment vehicles.
Professional Activities
David is a former member of the Tax Council of the Philadelphia Bar Association and is the former Vice Chair of the PBA Charitable Organizations Committee. Before practicing law, he worked for several years as an economic analyst at a consulting firm in Washington, D.C.
Education and Licenses
David received his B.A. degree in economics from the Pennsylvania State University in 2001. He earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2008 and his LL.M. in taxation from Temple University School of Law in 2015. David is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania.
